Sure. It totally beat being forced to participate in school-organized team sports. I enjoyed scouting because earning certain merit badges afforded the opportunity to do and study what I wanted. Got out at 13 to pursue my own hobbies individually and/or with friends of my choice - meaning without too much interference and without having to always conform to goals chosen by others. More badges are available today than in the past and are relevant to the times.
A good question is: Have the experiences and knowledge gained in scouting have contributed to one's character and success in life?
